This manual is designed for Crew Leader Instructors to teach Crew Leadership for Trails and/or Crew Leadership for Ecological Restoration. It is formatted to offer Instructors the flexibility to rearrange the presentation order to accommodate specific goals of a sponsoring organization, or restrictive weather conditions. The material is designed to either be taught in the field or using a combination of classroom and on-site, outdoor locations.
Each section contains a list of materials and preparation needed for that section, including handouts and worksheets that can be prepared before the course begins.
References are made throughout the text of this manual to specific sections of the companion Trainee Guides to help Instructors reference the content and help trainees follow along. It is recommended that Instructors also familiarize themselves with the Trainee Guides appropriate for the discipline they are teaching (Trails or Ecological Restoration) and keep a copy of the Trainee Guides with their teaching materials.
